Welcome to our platform! By accessing Hexlink, browsing communities, registering an account to create a community, or clicking through to join a listed community, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Age Restriction (18+ Only)​

Hexlink is intended strictly for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

  • By accessing the platform, creating an account, or following links to external communities, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
  • Community creators must ensure their external groups are strictly 18+. We reserve the right to immediately remove any listing that targets, encourages, or admits minors.

2. Description of Service​

Our platform provides an interactive, tile-based map interface allowing users to discover, link to, or create local communities over selected geographic areas.

We act solely as an index/directory platform that links to independent, external third-party communities (e.g., WhatsApp groups, Discord servers, Facebook groups).

3. Platform Moderation & External Communities​

  • Pre-Approval & Spam Screening: To maintain platform quality, submitted communities undergo basic administrative screening (e.g., spam and link checks) before appearing on the map. However, this approval process is strictly operational and does not constitute a full audit or endorsement of external groups.
  • No Endorsement or Responsibility: We do not host, operate, or manage external community channels (such as WhatsApp groups, Discord servers, or Facebook groups). Once you leave our map interface via an external link, we accept no liability for the content, interactions, or security on those external platforms.
  • External Redirect Notice: Clicking on a community link prompts a notice reminding you that you are navigating to an independent third-party site, and that by proceeding, you agree to our Terms & Conditions and Community Guidelines.

4. Account Registration & Creation​

To create or pin a community on the map, you must register an account:

  • Authentication: Accounts are managed via Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cognito. We collect and store only your email address and password credentials.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

5. Community Creation & Content Submission​

When submitting a community to be displayed on the map, you agree to the following:

  1. User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the information provided (Community Name, Description, Map Location/Tiles selected, and Social Links).
  2. 18+ Compliance: You certify that your community is strictly for adults (18+) and that you will actively manage your group to keep it safe and age-compliant.
  3. Privacy Warning (Doxxing): Map tiles are publicly accessible. Do not link your exact home location or share personal sensitive information that could result in doxxing yourself or others.
  4. Right to Remove / Terminate: We reserve the right to remove, edit, or delete any community listing on the map—and suspend or terminate associated user accounts—with or without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violations of our Community Guidelines.

6. Reporting Violations & Takedowns​

If you spot a map listing or external link that violates our guidelines, illegal content, or infringes on rights, you may submit a takedown/removal request by emailing us at removals@hexlink.org.

Please include the community name, location on the map, link, and the reason for the requested deletion, including any evidence if applicable.

7. Limitation of Liability​

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our platform, its developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the map, interactions in external communities, or unauthorized access to user accounts.
